The Nike Air Kukini “Water” is the re-issue of the original colorway of the retro performance running shoe that debuted in 2000. Tapping into the Air Kukini’s early 2000s, Y2K-era vibe, the “Water” colorway was one of several styles of the running shoe that debuted as part of the now-defunct Nike Alpha Project, an athlete-based campaign that aimed to improve upon Nike’s performance footwear technology by studying how athletes use and perform in shoes. As for the “Water,” the colorway is complete with a water-inspired woven textile construction. A translucent TPU overlay “cage” contrasts the look throughout. “Nike” branding is found on various points of the shoe. A white foam midsole with visible Air cushioning in the heel completes the look. Release date: November 22, 2022
